Let's Hear It For UFOs and finally learning to use a longarm...

Finishing the box UFO was very satisfying and spurred me on to learn to use a long-arm so that I can quilt it when I feel sufficiently educated. This UFO has been hanging around for a number of years and I had to get over "precious-ness" and cut up finished blocks I'd made, but ultimately didn't like. That made all the difference in how this turned out. My long-arm practice piece is a whole different animal and I seem to be approaching it like I would a doodle - a fairly restrained doodle. Well, I'm pretty new to this owning bolts of fabric thing, but it's quite exciting! I've been a quilter since 2012. I love fabric and have since I learned how to sew as a teenager in the 60s. I graduated from college in the early 80s with a duo degree in printmaking and fibers and then had a family.
