I want to let folks know that our long anticipated move to a larger space will occur throughout the month of August. As the previous occupants move out, we will move in. We outgrew our 10th Avenue store quickly this past year. We did some remodeling but it wasn't enough. So... onward and upward.
I apologize for not writing more often. Being new to retailing, I had some major uphill learning curves to overcome. Still not sure I have overcome all of them, but things are changing as I see what works and what doesn't.
I choose fabric, etc. based on what pleases me. Sounds selfish but my reasoning is that I can't sell what I don't personally believe in. When I hear of good products useful for quilters, I try to purchase them. Not all of them are listed online and are in-store sales only.
The only two quilt patterns I have used are Then Came June and books with Kaffe Fassett's patterns. I sell both in store. I love their work and have found that the patterns are easy to follow.
One of my quilts won reserve champion in the county fair here. I was very surprised and pleased. This star quilt was inspired by some that I've seen on Instagram. I was stunned by the use of color using just good old scraps, so I jumped on one and set sail.
Have an excellent remainder of summer and if you are in Sidney, come by. New fabric has been coming in over the summer season, including some fun Christmas fabric from Art Gallery that reminds me of the late 1950s and 60s.
