We Love Fabric!!

May and the Start of Summer in Nebraska

Posted by Lynn Holbrook on

This "wheel" quilt was a labor of love. My husband, Andrew helped me make a template that mostly worked for the "spokes" and I was able to make minor adjustments. I started this quilt in January and handed it off to the new owner about a month ago.

(If my wheel quilt reminds you of a quilt you have seen online, please let me know if you know the maker of that quilt. I went off a picture on Pinterest that had no info about who created it - and it is such a gorgeous quilt, I had to attempt to make one like it. I learned a lot from the palette that maker used - it was masterful and truly a gorgeous piece of work!)

Came down with the flu in late February and it was so nasty it set me back about 4 weeks before I felt like I had maybe recovered.  I am grateful to be well. It reminded me of the flus I had as a kid in grade school. Those lasted a few weeks.

I am adding a few bolts here and there to the collection in the store and moving bolts to the sale wagon to make room for a some new fabric I hope will be here soon. It seems like the distributors are in some disarray, perhaps from supply chain or tariff issues.

I want to give a shout out to Art Gallery Fabrics. They are dealing with 10% tariffs and they sent out a notice that they decided to absorb those costs instead of passing them on. They are a dream to work with and their fabrics are wonderful. All in all I have wonderful suppliers.

Hoping you are healthy and enjoying the start up of summer, 2025!

My best to each and every one of you. Stay well and get outside!!
