It's been almost a year since we moved from the tiny store on 10th Ave to our current store and we are happy to be here! These past 12 months have brought new customers and we started quilt classes this past spring and early summer, and will continue to offer them.
I finished a quilt and sent it to my dear friend and favorite quilter, Carol, to put her incredible quilting touches on and it took Grand Champion in the local county fair. This is Then Came June's Nova Star pattern and I used fabrics from two fat quarter bundles of Free Spirit's William Morris reprints. The sashing is a Hoffman print and the corner stones and binding are from Robert Kaufman.
I've been pretty burnt out on quilting after finishing three other small quilts and using them for long arm practice, so I launched back into making 3-D animals and birds. Those are so satisfying and they finish up with such funny personalities. It's always a delight to make them, but I have to be in a patient mood.
Our weather has been so fine this year. We've only had a few days in the 100s. What a blessing!
Should be adding new fabric this month and will be posting it in the online store. Hope your summer days are enjoyable.
